The Process

Whether you’re looking to redesign a room or renovate your entire house, Barlow Reid Design’s seamless process takes a step-by-step approach to making your entire project both efficient and enjoyable from concept to completion.

With over a decade of designing beautiful living spaces, we’ve developed strong relationships with trusted and highly skilled trades, artisans, and suppliers. Each project is led by our Principal Designer, Jennifer Reid, and is supported by a project manager and junior designer along with other contractors as required.

Barlow Reid team members work closely together to streamline the design process, and flawlessly execute your plans, while respecting both your timelines and budget. Our goal is to make this a truly gratifying experience for you every step of the way.

The Consultation

The first step in any project begins with a consultation. Principal Designer, Jennifer, will meet with you in person to discuss your ideas, design challenges and biggest dreams for your space.

During this 1 hour consultation we’ll walk you through the design process, as well as offer you feedback, original solutions, and creative ideas for your project.

Following this initial meeting, we’ll prepare a proposal that outlines the scope of the work along with next steps.

The Plan

Once we have a clear idea of your requests and personal style, it’s time to put it all together.

Your plan will include a comprehensive overview of your design including schematic details, elevations, illustrations, colour pallet, architectural finished and millwork samples to help you visualize your project coming to life.

Also included in the plan are estimates, a confirmation of your budget and allocation of resources. When you’re satisfied with your plan, it’s time for the next step…

The Design

This is where things get fun and your project takes flight! During the design process we work diligently to make your vision and plan a reality.

We closely monitor every minute detail of your project ensuring it’s not only adhering to plans but superseding your expectations.

This is our favorite part of the process because we get to reveal the results to you and watch you fall in love with your new space!
